Wendy, Emma, and I shot the MFAA shoot at ”The Nimrod” (officially named The Nimrod League of Holden) today, 12/19/21. It was our first time shooting at this location and it’s a great spot. It was easy to find via map software (Google Maps in our case today). Here are some pictures:
We weren’t sure what door to enter when we got there, but we tried the front and it worked. Upon entering it looks like this:
You then make your way down the hall that Wendy is near in the above picture. The second door on the right, past the first set of baseboard heating on the right, is the door you enter to go down into the basement.
When you get there it looks like this:
It’s exceptionally clean and all relatively new construction, and the chairs are padded and comfortable. What’s nice are the windows looking into the range, where you can view the archers shoot from in front of them, an unusual viewpoint since spectators are usually behind the archers.
There are 8 archer’s boxes, so 8 people can shoot at the same time.
The entire building was spotless and very, very comfortable. Shooting was great, though for me in particular it was a little difficult because the ceilings are relatively low and my crazy long 74” bow hit the ceiling unless I did a relatively significant stretch to get my body low enough for my bow to clear the ceiling:
As usual, the MFAA shoot was a great time!
